About Me

My photo
Whether it's five miles or five hundred miles, riding a bicycle is more fun than anyone ever told me! My New Year's Resolution to cycle 10 miles a day or 40 minutes on a spin bike has meant that by the end of May I have cycled 2,600 miles! Because of my cycling wardrobe the weather has not stopped me from cycling (unless it really is -5 degrees or with wind gusts of 25 mph). Cycling in style and in comfort is really important to me as I don't really want to be covered in logos looking like a Ninja as I buy groceries or attend meetings. I have found some things that work for me but am always looking for new pieces. For me, Evans Cycles and Cycle Surgery for the basics. My two favourite brands for my wardrobe are www.velorution.com and www.velovixen.com but I am always looking for new pieces. I would love to know what works for you and why. Happy cycling!

Mice Log Star Date 44

West Dulwich and an Enormous Coincidence on 13 02 13.  17.2 miles, average speed 8.5 in 2.10 hours.  A train to South East London as it was early and cold!

A pootle round West Dulwich and then a cycle ride back with a friend via Brixton and Clapham avoiding hills.  I was on the Brommie so that was a good call!  The timing was perfect because we cycled past Gails Bakery at teatime! Their carrot cake is delicious!

I then headed to Farringon for a meeting.  My Brommie was not alone!

Life is a weird thing. London is a small place.  I walked into the meeting and there was the track standing guy who I had enviously seen on Saturday in Hyde Park! How ridiculous is that!

After the meeting we cycled westwards together and despite me being on the Brommie weighed down with luggage  he accompanied me along the embankment - wow London at night is pretty - but I felt really bad that I was keeping him back so we agreed that once we reached Parliament Square I would pootle home and he would hare off down CS7 - which we duly did.
