About Me

My photo
Whether it's five miles or five hundred miles, riding a bicycle is more fun than anyone ever told me! My New Year's Resolution to cycle 10 miles a day or 40 minutes on a spin bike has meant that by the end of May I have cycled 2,600 miles! Because of my cycling wardrobe the weather has not stopped me from cycling (unless it really is -5 degrees or with wind gusts of 25 mph). Cycling in style and in comfort is really important to me as I don't really want to be covered in logos looking like a Ninja as I buy groceries or attend meetings. I have found some things that work for me but am always looking for new pieces. For me, Evans Cycles and Cycle Surgery for the basics. My two favourite brands for my wardrobe are www.velorution.com and www.velovixen.com but I am always looking for new pieces. I would love to know what works for you and why. Happy cycling!

Mice Log Star Date 32

Wowser! it's February already 01 02 13. 14 miles pootling from home to SE1 and back via Borough Market and On Your Bike which has moved from one set of arches to another.

Somehow I avoided the raindrops! I was on a CS at 8am which was quite an experience. And l shared it with scooters and motorbikes. What's that about? Not forgetting wing-mirrors of vans/lorries who insisted on keeping their wheels on the painted line of the CS.

Then a backlog of cyclists who couldn't pass a truck that was parked in the CS as they were held up by some chap in a Porsche next to it who was oblivious to the blockage he was causing because he was engrossed in his Blackberry. I guess this kind of thing is standard status quo for those that CS commute daily.

I was a bit gobsmacked by it all. Luckily I had a lovely day so forgot all about it - and the sun in the clouds on the way home was just a privilege to see.
